ELYSIA AND CHARLIE
THE STORY BEHIND
ELYSIA DREAM WEDDING
Charlie and I have been together since we were 15, so by the time we became engaged in 2023, our wedding felt less like the beginning of a love story and more like the celebration of one that had already spanned a decade. We chose to marry on Valentine’s Day - a date synonymous with romance - but for us, it has always carried something more personal. It’s long been woven into our family story; a day that represents love learned young, nurtured intentionally, and passed down through generations.
We were married at Sunnyside Estate, a place deeply sentimental to us in the Mornington Peninsula, where our families have spent summers for as long as we can remember. The setting felt like an extension of home - coastal, nostalgic, and effortlessly beautiful.
Rather than abundant florals, we embraced artful, intentional details. Our decade-long love story was woven throughout the day, with excerpts from Valentine’s Day cards we exchanged in our early years printed onto cocktail napkins. We honoured my Greek heritage through all the senses - olive tree bomboniere, fig-scented candles, a Greek-inspired menu and signage, and a zeibekiko father–daughter dance that was one of the most powerful moments of the night.
The day was perfect and it felt truly unique to us - a celebration of growing up together, of family and of heritage.
